The town of Cangas del Narcea in Asturias, Spain hosts a celebration of the region’s ancient wine-making tradition every October. The streets are filled with stalls selling traditional products and showcasing local crafts. Visitors can also participate in the many activities scheduled for the Festival.
The Festival includes a demonstration of the classic grape treading, which is carried out in a traditional way; a scene is staged with a barrel that is transported on a typical cart. Visitors can also participate in the traditional pressing of the grapes by feet stamping, as well as pay visits to local vineyards.
Moreover, all the restaurants in the area are involved in the festival and while it lasts diners can enjoy a typical grape harvest menu.
